Small Details That Make a Big Impact at Your Party
Hey Hosting Queen,
“You always think of the small details. Things I would never think of — but they definitely add so much to the table.”
That’s what one of my friends said to me after the last party I hosted.
She wasn’t talking about the food or even the setting — though both are important. She was talking about the smaller touches, like:
🎉 Strawberries all facing the same direction on the cupcakes
🎉 A big bouquet of sunflowers sitting at the back of the buffet table
🎉 Bug spray available at a campfire party
🎉 A linen tablecloth under the s’mores table
🎉 Simple signs pointing to the garbage or bathroom
Those were the small details she noticed.
Those tiny touches — the seemingly insignificant ones — are often what quietly say to your guests:
“Thank you for coming. You matter here.”
And the good news is you don’t need to go over the top with these details. You definitely don’t need to stress yourself out or spend a lot of money either.
Sometimes it’s the simplest touches that make the biggest difference.
For your next gathering, you might consider small details like:
✨ Candles
✨ A bud vase with a single vibrant bloom
✨ A subtle use of colour throughout the space
✨ Background music
✨ A real tablecloth instead of plastic
✨ Handwritten place cards
There are really no strict rules about what counts as a “small detail.” The key is simply choosing a few thoughtful touches that make your gathering feel welcoming and intentional.
Just be careful not to add too many — the last thing you want is a cluttered space. 😑
